13 ways to fail at everything

What I’m about to say is uncomfortable reading… 

Especially if you’re not quite where you want to be in this life. 

Now, it makes logical sense. 

But admitting what this list means for you? 

Well, that’s a harder pill to swallow. 

Because when it comes to failure and not getting what you want…

The rules of failure are the same. 

No matter what area of life. 

The 13 ways to fail are:

  1. Starting tomorrow.
  2. Blaming your circumstances.
  3. Avoiding discomfort. 
  4. Comparing yourself to mediocre people to feel better. 
  5. Expecting someone to save you.
  6. Whinging, moaning or complaining. 
  7. Being uncommitted. 
  8. Staying busy and going nowhere. 
  9. Assuming you’re right. 
  10. Repeating the same mistakes. 
  11. Waiting for perfect conditions.
  12. Saying you’re going to do something and not doing it.  
  13. Doing what you’ve always done and expecting something different.

Now, failure can be down to just one of these reasons. 

Or it can be down to a whole bunch of them, wrapped together in a failure parcel. 

Either way, there is one painful common thread between them all… 


And more specifically, your actions.

Your failure (and success) sits with you, and you alone. 

And I get it. 

That’s hard to hear.

Same goes for me. 

Nobody likes hearing this. 

Very few like taking ‘ultimate responsibility’ for themselves –  watch the news for three minutes to see that in action.

Yet a funny thing happens when you choose to take ‘ultimate responsibility’ for yourself and your success…

You stop tolerating mediocrity. 

You stop waiting it out.  

You stop pretending change will magically happen.

…And you start moving.
