Last week a wise man said this about his employees:
“You could give them a pallet of gold and they would ask me where to put it.”
He was totally right.
As you probably know, I am not a fan of employees.
The endless questions.
The endless emotional baggage.
The endless mistakes.
It’s exhausting and usually ends up with you and me picking up the slack.
Here’s the thing…
Employees are a difficult and dangerous pill to swallow when you are the captain of your own ship…
Yet, when you started out I suspect you wanted them – lots of them…
After all, there’s a status attached to body count.
… And if you believe what you read online, employees also mean you make more money – right?
It’s only once you’ve been in this game a while that you realise that this couldn’t be further from the truth…
… Because employees eat time and money for breakfast.
It’s why their ROI is so gut-wrenching poor.
Yes, turnover might get a bump…
… But the cold hard reality is that you’re often worse off than before.
A dead cat bounce leaves you often paying them more than you pay yourself.
… All whilst you slowly lose your mind trying to stay on top of the headaches, drama and HR policies.
No thanks.
Truth is, it doesn’t have to be this way…
Not if you’re happy getting to 1.5M to 3M anyway.
Systems and automation can now do the bulk of the heavy lifting in any business.
Even if you’re still in the old world of believing…
“But you can’t automate what I do!”
The harsh reality is this…
Now is your window of opportunity.
A window that will soon close, as the world is waking up to the power of automation and AI.
Sooner or later your competitors will get on the automation gravy train…
… So I strongly urge you to be the opportunist, get in there first and beat them to the punch.
It’s the easiest most efficient way to scale to 1M+ without an army of employees.
That said, if you feel like you need help and do not know where to start, here’s what to do next.
