Make ‘Em Believe – Take Their Money

Interesting fact for you today.

Back in the ‘70s the name “Atari” was chosen for the next-gen video game company for one reason and one reason only…

So customers thought they were based in Japan. 

Actually, they were based in Northern California.

An instructive lesson about perception and positioning.

See, the truth is, most men in our shoes would be wise to consider that despite what we’re told to believe, a book is always judged by its cover.

Good news for those of us in this tribe that are in the business of making money.

… Bad news for those who continue to be lazy when it comes to how they are seen and perceived by others.

Because the fact of the matter is, now more than ever, perception is nine-tenths of the law.

After all, and in my experience, if someone believes it’s real, then to them, well, it’s real.

It’s why for some:

… The earth is really flat.

… The aliens have really landed.

… and Lady gaga is really a man.

Making this the question of the day this:

How does the market perceive YOU?

… And how do the people that will give you money and keep a roof over your head perceive what you do?

Because their beliefs will always trump your opinion.

It’s why right now and in order to take their money, you must make them believe you can really do what you say you do.

The best way to do that?

Well, ruthlessly doubling down on controlling perceptions.

It’s why over the last 12 months and behind the closed door of The Fellowship, I’ve deep-dived into the art and science of creating a propaganda machine – for profit.

Consider that, how to put things in place that:

  • CONTROL what the customer sees…
  • CONTROL what the customer knows…
  • CONTROL what the customer perceives…
