Last weekend I had a conversation that struck an uncomfortable chord.
I suspect it might be the same for you too…
At rugby, I got talking to another Dad, turns out he runs a well-known business.
I asked how it was going.
His response was this…
“On paper it’s good. In reality, I haven’t had a proper holiday in at least 5 years.”
Now, this guy had been on many breaks – cruising the med, skiing the Alps, and theme parks with the kids.
…B-U-T he was only ever physically there.
Mentally he was still working.
Still keeping an eye on the business… still babysitting staff… still trying to keep visibility on it all.
A painful reality for far too many successful men in this game.
You go to the beach for a week.
You get a tan.
B-U-T you don’t switch off.
Because at the end of the day…
You are the one holding this thing together.
You are the one sacrificing it all.
And you are the one still mentally in the office, even when you’re physically out.
Now, not only is this draining, exhausting and shattering…
It makes pushing to 1M+ tricky and difficult.
After all, there’s no capacity to scale and only so much babysitting you can do.
It’s why most businesses grind to a halt and stay stood still.
Because the man at the helm keeps doing the same things and expecting different results.
It’s why if an ounce of this rings true, I’d urge you to consider and understand that what got you here won’t get you there.
Especially if you want more profit, more wealth and more freedom.
Best way to break the chains that bind?
