Emma and I are having a fight…
We’re currently at a stalemate.
To be fair, it’s more of a disagreement – raised voices are low, raised eyebrows are high.
See, in a week or so we’re heading back to our old stomping ground – the West Coast of Canada.
Flight time 9hr 55min.
Urgh.
That’s a lot of time sitting on your arse, breathing in other people’s farts.
And that’s where it all kicked off:
Me: “We’ve done well this year…”
Emma: “Yeah. And?”
Me: “Let’s fly first class.”
Emma (horrified): “No we can’t! It will spoil Barney!”
She’s right.
It will spoil him.
No kid should be experiencing real cutlery, proper plates, and a bed on a plane.
But spending a day wedged into a seat fit for a field mouse… behind an annoying recliner…. next to a screaming toddler?
Not fun.
Why choose to spend 10 hours in hell when you can avoid it?
Bring on the spoilt brat.
Now, deep down, I know Emma feels guilty about it….
Guilty about spending on something that many cannot.
And she is an idiot.
Which brings me to the point of this email today.
Because chances are, when it comes to money, you might be too.
See, when you play this game for yourself it’s hard.
The knocks often outnumber the wins.
Which in my mind means when you are winning, it’s important you celebrate.
Reward yourself.
After all, no one else is going to give you a pay rise, a pat on the back, or a pep talk.
Anyway, if you have worked hard and made good money…
Enjoy it.
Without guilt.
Will Emma let me upgrade?
The jury is still out.
But regardless, here’s to better food and a better seat.
Until next time.
Make More. Provide More. Be More.
