Today’s a quick but essential one… Especially if you’ve got kids.
I meant to mention it last week after we landed – but totally forgot.
It’s on the back of an impulse buy at East Midlands airport.
See, while I was getting bend over the barrel for three bottles of water I also got sideswiped by Barney into buying him a new book.
Truth is, I never mind buying Barney books.
… History has proved, time and time again, that those who show a heritage of strength always have big libraries and small TV’s.
Anyway, his book of choice:
“You Are a Champion: How to Be the Best You Can Be” by Marcus Rashford.
Apparently, Marcus is a big deal, and apparently, he plays football.
I had no idea – football’s not my thing.
That said, and during the two-hour flight, Barney voluntarily ditched the iPad and devoured the whole thing – start to finish.
I was intrigued so the next day and poolside, I then did the same thing – and FUCK.
… On the back of those 180 pages, I’m 100% convinced that this book should be on the national curriculum and essential reading for EVERY man, woman and child.
In one fell swoop, it clearly nails to the floor…
- The power of dreaming big
- The power of disciplined practise
- The power of getting out of your comfort zone
- The power in making mistakes
- The power of standing shoulder to shoulder with others
Arguably the foundations for any young person to successfully navigate today’s fucked up blur of boom or bust
Anyway, the point is this…
BUY THE BOOK.
If you have children then consider it your moral obligation as their provider and protector to invest in them and arm them to the teeth with its contents – at speed and full force.
