Let’s talk autonomy and how to create it while scaling up.
First things first, as you read this, I’m not in the UK… instead, I’m soaking up some sun in the Med.
The order of the day?
Paddleboarding, Pole Fishing, Pina Colada…
… Not necessarily in that order.
And note I did not say, check emails, take calls or remote-manage projects.
Anyway, back to the point of the email.
Autonomy.
What some what call freedom.
… And what I call the ultimate goal for you, me, and any other man that operates at the helm of his own business.
The power to do what you want, when you want, with who you want and at the price you want.
See, before we flew out here yesterday, I met a friend for dinner.
He runs a successful accounting practice – with 13 employees.
As I explained my need for an early bedtime he commented:
“Mate you go on a lot of holidays, how do you get all this time off?”
True, I do get away a lot.
However…
This friend is doing ok too.
He could also make the choice to be out of the business and off the island.
Yet he doesn’t.
Because he can’t.
Now let me be clear, it’s not a money problem.
It’s a trapped in the business problem.
In other words, he can’t take more than 3 days out of the office without things falling through the cracks and the business falling on its face.
It’s his big weakness and one that kills all his autonomy and freedom.
A sorry state of affairs that like most men in this game, started with one thing and one thing only.
Hard graft.
After all, when you start out, work ethic is a driving force in success.
To prove all the doubters wrong you work like a bastard.
And in the beginning, it works…
The business grows, you get some spoils and you feel like you’re winning.
The trouble is, that only lasts so long.
Once you reach a certain point, you inevitably hit a ceiling.
So you try to work your way out of it and scramble to stop the rot…
Yet…
… Growth stalls… progress stalls… and profits stalls…
A sorry state of affairs that leaves you working all the hours, in all the days – just to stand still or worse go backwards.
Meaning, you my friend end up shackled to the business.
Mentally. Physically. Or both.
Maybe you hire some staff, only to find out their return is pitiful (at best) and the extra workload on you is monumental.
Till you reach the point where you’re at 13 employees and making less money than when you had just one.
… So here he is, stuck in Birmingham and unable to take more than a three-day break – despite all the blood, sweat and tears.
The painful fact of the matter is this…
The game isn’t scale to £1M+ at all costs.
That’s relatively straightforward – but widely debunked…
For men like you and I who want to use your business as a tool to provide and protect.
The real game is scale to £1m+ with freedom and autonomy baked into the business.
Yes, you need to work…
But that will only get you so far.
Scale with freedom in mind needs you to do three more things:
- Simplify and focus on where the real money is then…
- Automate and systemise so you can…
- Scale quickly with ease.
It’s exactly why men choose to come and join me here and in my two groups.
To deploy just that using my unique S.A.S Protocol™.
Sceptical?
Well, the proof in the pudding.
Last month alone…
… Alan and his brother scaled to 105k month with 30k profit in their two-man operation.
… Matt from Wolverhampton scaled to 101k month after getting rid of two employees.
… Paul from N. Wales scaled to 115k month for the first time ever with his small five-man team.
… John scaled to 48k month with three employees in his irrigation business.
… and Steve scaled to 76k month with just one other member of staff.
So if you want to scale to £1M+ with maximum autonomy and minimal employees then here’s what to do next:
