The best way to get revenge…

The saying goes that ‘revenge is a dish best served cold.

And last week I was told a story about revenge from Michael, a long standing member of One Man Empire….  

See Michael runs an electrical business he’s built from the ground up. 

A few years ago he got what he thought was a dream contract with a national housebuilder. 

Yet he soon realised the dream was a fucking nightmare. 

And that national housebuilders are complete c*nts. 

… Endless emails at all hours of the day and night… dangerous site management… constant headaches and ‘add ons’… all for a wafer-thin profit. 

Now, since Michael has been behind the scenes here, he’s simplified the shit out of his business and shifted to a NEW updated and streamlined model.

And so last week the moment finally came…

He told the housebuilders to forget the money and hit the bricks.

I asked him how they took it. 

He smirked: 

“Not well.” 

Apparently, they couldn’t believe it. 

How dare someone sack them

He should be grateful, thankful, happy for the work blah blah blah. 

Oh to be a fly on the wall of that conversation.

Because here’s the thing…

If you feel like shit is harder than it needs to be – chances are it’s because over the years you’ve created a monster, not a machine. 

It’s why I always urge simplification over selling at all costs.

After all, when you simplify fast, you cut out the crap and you get profitable – immediately.

Here’s why….

When you drop the generalist bullshit you stand out.

… And when you stand out you can command prices based on value, not costs.

Best way to simplify?

A ruthless focus on shifting to a model driven by…

  • ONE profitable audience
  • ONE profitable offering
  • ONE profitable process

It’s the only way to profit in this NEW economy without – being bent over the barrel.
