It’s that time of year when the leaves are turning, the clocks are changing and The Great British Bake Off is back on.
And this is an absolute disaster….
Not because of the baking.
But because my wife watches.
And always bakes as a result of this show.
This week, homemade digestives.
And right now, I’m training… hard.
1600 calories a day.
No exceptions.
The problem?
The digestives were staring at me.
The delicious smell was wafting from the oven in my nostrils.
Mocking me.
I didn’t need to eat them.
I wasn’t hungry.
And just one of those bad boys would screw the day.
So… did I have a digestive?
Fcuking right, I did.
Just the one.
No big deal, right?
Wrong.
I’d crumbled on the hard limit I’d set myself.
And on the surface?
That one biscuit changes nothing.
But the bigger picture?
Different story.
Because it’s not even about the biscuit, it’s about discipline.
One small moment of weakness – no discipline – and it spills over.
Don’t believe me?
Just think about it.
It’s never just the big stuff that takes us out….
It’s the small things we let slide.
The conversations we avoid.
The actions we delay.
The standards we lower.
Day-by-day… inch-by-inch…then it’s got you by the balls.
Because little hinges move big doors, my friend.
Negatively or positively.
And discipline on the small stuff compounds…
In Y-O-U-R favour.
Especially in the game of running your own business.
Until next time.
Make More. Provide More. Be More.
