Last week, I had to stop the blood bleeding from my eyes.
I was doing a rare consulting day with a private client.
It’s 9am…
I’ve only walked through reception.
And based on what I’d just heard I’d already added £30K to the bottom line of this particular business.
Rewind 15 minutes and I’m early.
I always am.
It means I can get a feel for what’s really happening.
And in those fifteen minutes, I heard the receptionist answer the phone three times.
Each time her answer was this:
“I’m sorry no one is in till 9 o’clock can you call back in 20 minutes”
hmmmm…
Do you think they’re gonna call back?
I doubt it.
Ouch.
Such a small sentence but such a big fcuk up.
After all, do you think they’re all gonna call back?
Doubt it.

“Employees: Never Allow Them To Act Unscripted.”
Now…
… I caught her three times, but god only knows how many other times she’s dropping the ball and screwing this up.
And when their projects and these phone calls could be worth £20K, £30K, even £75K this is a cross that few can afford to bear.
One that leads you to make arshole assumptions like the Google ads aren’t working.
Nope.
Ads are working…
Employees can’t answer the phones.
The point is this:
If you have to have employees then you must take back control.
Remove the need for them to think…
… And systemise and script everything – for scale.
It’s the only way to guarantee that all potential profit that flows to your door consistently ends up in your back pocket.
Truth is, if scale is the name of the game then strict systems are your keys to the kingdom.
