This week I disagreed with my wife, Emma.
‘Tis the season for some marital discord…
The annual Bruce Willis debate.
My thoughts?
Die Hard is festive as a partridge in a pear tree.
Yet, against all logic and reason, Emma is still a stubborn no.
Now, my wife is not daft.
She enjoys a late-80s Willis being a loveable rogue, murdering the bad guys and smoking a cigarette as much as we all do.
But she refuses to call Die Hard a ‘Christmas movie.’
She casts aside poor Willis like used wrapping paper.
Me: “Come o-o-o-n, it’s set at an office Christmas party? Plus his wife is called Holly! What more do you want?”
Her: “It just doesn’t f-e-e-l like Christmas.”
Ahhhhh.
And with that (just like last year) I am defeated.
Because feelings trump logic. Every time.
The same is true in any area of life.
Feelings are always a more powerful motivator than reason or logic.
Yet in this game, most still choose to sell on logic…
…My product is better quality.
…My location is closer.
…My qualifications are fancier.
Yet the biggest payoff always comes from getting down and dirty in your customers’ feelings.
Take away their pain and you’ll profit big time in 2025.
Until then, there’s only one way to finish:
Yippee-Ki-Yay-Motherfucker.
Until next time.
Make More. Provide More. Be More.
