While I was away over the summer, I did something few view as a holiday activity….
It wasn’t relaxing.
It wasn’t adventurous.
And it was dirty.
I went back to my roots.
I poured concrete.
… For 8 hours straight, in the 30-degree heat, I pushed a wheelbarrow in the mud – with old friends for old times.
Sixty minutes in and there were blisters on my blisters.
Clearly a decade and a half out of the concrete game had made me weak.
But I fuching loved it.
Truth is, it was top of my “must-do” list while back in beautiful B.C.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I don’t miss the graft.
But being back with the boys… The banta… The comradery…
I miss that – a lot.
It was good times, good memories and a good business.
In fact, it was a stark reminder about this game, and how men like you and I should play it.
Afterall…
Business is like sex – If it ain’t fun, you ain’t doing it right.
And that brings me to the point of this email today.
… Because I don’t know about you, but from what I’m seeing from within the trenches, too many men in this game are suffering not savouring.
