Self-Delusion and The Perils of Being Nice…

An instructive thirteen words from long-standing Fellowship member Simeon C for you this morning:

“OK this is brutal, but then that is why you joined the group…”

It was the first line of a cutthroat reply he wrote to another man around the table who was asking for feedback on his new website.

A dressing down I suspect in most circles would have been greeted with cries of being unfair, mean and, god forbid, brutally fucking honest…

… Yet here and inside this honour group, was taken on the chin and welcomed with open arms.

Something to do with the power that comes from starting to take counsel from other men whom you know and whom you respect.

An instructive lesson in an age where advice is too often given based on what THEY think you want to hear or based on what benefits THEM most.

… Instead of what YOU really needed to bunker down and push forward.

A self-inflicted coupe-de-grace that comes from taking advice, insight and opinions from others who lack a proven track record of courage, honour and virtue…

Over the years I’ve personally seen the heritage of strength in my businesses that comes from removing ego and standing shoulder to shoulder with others who will tell you EXACTLY how it is…

See without an Iron Council, most men will blindly flatter the work they do and the output they produce – without question.

Something, that in most cases, causes a gravitation pull towards cutting corners, lowering standards and accepting excuses.

… Or in other words, the fastest way in anyone’s book to be hung, drawn and quartered in the blink of an eye.

Anyway, it goes without saying, if you want people to pussyfoot around and offer you praise for poor production then this group of 30 smart ambitious men is probably not for you.

However, if you’re willing to suck it up, man up and bend the knee to WHAT you really need to hear, WHEN you need to hear it – then The Fellowship could be the one thing that separates the reason from the madness.

Anyway ’nuff said on that and if you want to consider filling in an application to join us, you can do that here:
