Got forwarded this dumb fuckery from a member of The Alliance this week…
They wanted my opinion on it.
“Hi [Member Name]… You need to start sending emails that will add value to your audience… We can do that for you…”
I mean, having spent almost 2 decades in this game, I’m yet to find a marketing agency that is NOT full of shit.
Here’s the thing, these jokers aren’t just dumb, they’re deadly.
Especially for men like you and I.
Now here’s what grinds my gears…
The use of the word ‘value.’
Value has to be the most overused, costly, and bullshit word of the century.
In fact, I’m 99% convinced it was made up by these charlatans in the first place…
To peddle their own crap.
Just like Hallmark made up Valentines to peddle more cards.
Truth is, you don’t need to add value.
Last time I checked, you cannot take value to the bank.
Instead, you need sales and revenue.
And in my experience that comes from psychology (marketing) 101:
- Finding people that have a problem
- Agitating that problem
- Offering them a solution to fix that problem.
Value doesn’t even come into the equation.
Value comes after.
The value is in YOU fixing their shit 🙂
It’s why now more than ever you can never trust a word that comes out of a marketing agency’s mouth.
And why in my mind you can never trust others to control what puts food on your table.
It’s why you’d be wise to keep control of your sales and your marketing.
…If you want to keep beer in your belly and a good woman in your bed.
It’s the keys to the kingdom when it comes to getting results and really moving the dial in this new rapidly emerging economy.
So if you’re ready to STOP adding value and START making sales it might be time to saddle up and request a seat at this table:
