Picture the scene…
It’s 5.15pm, snowing and I’m sat watching Barney swim.
In walks a woman – a mum.
Nicely dressed, attractive and phone in hand.
Now here’s where it gets interesting.
She sits next to me, smiles and then starts her confession…
“I’m supposed to be dialing into the team meeting – right now. I told my boss that I’m having internet issues so I could bring Oliver here!”
Then it gets better…
“I do it every week [smirks].”
Hmmmmmmmm…
… And what the actual fuck?!?!
Turns out that even when you are paying your employees to work…
…They’re lying, slacking off, and taking their kid swimming.
It seems society’s standards have slipped to a new low.
Probably something to do with the fact that for 18 months they were actively encouraged to get paid for sitting at home while they frolic on furlough.
Now let me be clear – I don’t mind the taking your kids swimming.
… I DO mind the lying about it.
Anyway, it comes back to One Man Empire Iron Law #9 – Automate or die.
Because in my mind employees have always been unreliable and inconsistent.
It’s why when it comes to scale in this new economy, I’d urge you to let the machines rise.
The huge perk of automation over employees?
CONSISTENCY.
… Because, they don’t get sick, they don’t moan and they don’t take their kids swimming while they should be working.
They just do the work, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – rain or shine.
See, once you’ve got automation in your arsenal…
You can really SCALE.
Fast.
It’s exactly why long standing member of The Fellowship, Chris P decided to put a bullet in the back of the head of all his staff.
Going from seven full-time employees down to ZERO…
… By automating all the grunt work.
Net result:
Headaches – Down
Profits – Up
Begging the question – what were your employees doing last night at 5.15pm?!?
If they were “working” from home with internet issues, chances are my friend it’s time to let the machines rise and start building your machine.
Make More. Provide More. Be More.
